Acceptable Use Policy

Effective: September 9, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy (the "Policy") describes what you may and may not do with Triton Cloud, operated by Sovren Technologies, Inc. d/b/a Triton Cloud ("Triton," "we," "our," or "us"). It forms part of our Terms of Service and applies to everyone who uses the Services, including your employees, contractors, customers, and end users.

The purpose of this Policy is straightforward. Triton is shared infrastructure. A small number of accounts behaving badly can degrade performance for everyone else, get our address space blocklisted, or expose us and our customers to legal risk. This Policy sets the boundaries needed to keep the platform usable and lawful — not to govern what kind of business you run.

We recognize that as an infrastructure provider we are further from your content than a hosted application would be. We do not monitor what you run, and we do not want to arbitrate ordinary disputes about it. We act on this Policy when there is real harm, real risk, or a legal obligation.

1. You Are Responsible for Your Users

You are responsible for all activity in your account, including activity by anyone you give access to and by the end users of any service you operate on Triton. If you provide a service that lets other people upload or transmit content, you must have your own acceptable use terms, a working way for people to report abuse to you, and the ability to act on those reports promptly.

When abuse originates from your account, we will normally come to you first and expect you to resolve it. Your ability to do so quickly is what keeps the response proportionate.

2. Prohibited Content

You may not use the Services to store, transmit, host, or make available:

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or any material that sexually exploits a minor. This is absolute and admits no context, purpose, or exception. We report such material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and to law enforcement as required by law, preserve the associated data as directed, and terminate the account immediately and without notice.
  • Content that infringes another party's copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, or other intellectual property rights.
  • Content that violates another person's privacy or publicity rights, including non-consensual intimate imagery and material published to harass, dox, or intimidate a specific individual.
  • Content that promotes, incites, or provides instruction for terrorism, mass violence, or violent extremism.
  • Content designed to deceive — phishing pages, fraudulent storefronts, fake login or payment flows, counterfeit goods, or impersonation of a real person or organization for the purpose of deception.
  • Malware, ransomware, exploit kits, botnet command-and-control infrastructure, credential-stuffing lists, or tooling whose primary purpose is unauthorized access to systems.
  • Content that is otherwise unlawful under the laws applicable to you or to us.

3. Lawful Adult Content

Sexually explicit material involving consenting adults is not prohibited by this Policy, provided that it is lawful in every jurisdiction where you make it available, it is appropriately age-restricted, and you comply in full with all applicable record-keeping and labeling requirements, including 18 U.S.C. § 2257 where it applies. We may ask you to confirm compliance in writing, and may decline or discontinue service if you cannot.

Nothing in this section limits Section 2. Material involving minors, or involving anyone who has not consented, is prohibited absolutely.

4. Prohibited Network and Security Activity

You may not:

  • Launch or participate in denial-of-service or amplification attacks against any target, including targets you own.
  • Scan, probe, or test the vulnerability of any network or system you do not own, unless you hold documented written authorization from its owner. You must be able to produce that authorization on request.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system, account, or data — ours, another customer's, or a third party's — or to escape the boundaries of your own environment.
  • Intercept, sniff, or alter traffic that is not yours, or spoof source addresses, DNS records, BGP announcements, or packet headers.
  • Operate open relays, open proxies, open recursive DNS resolvers, or any other service configured in a way that lets third parties abuse it anonymously.
  • Circumvent quotas, metering, rate limits, or billing, or use multiple accounts to evade a limit or a suspension. Testing your own systems on Triton. You may perform security testing against infrastructure in your own account. Testing that generates significant traffic volume, or that could plausibly be mistaken for an attack in progress, must be coordinated with us in advance at support@tritoncloud.io so that our own defenses do not act against you.

If you find a vulnerability in the Triton platform itself, report it to security@tritoncloud.io. We will not pursue action against good-faith research that is reported to us promptly, stays within your own account, does not access other customers' data, and does not degrade the platform.

5. Email and Messaging

You may send email from the Services, subject to these rules:

  • Send only to recipients who have consented to hear from you. No purchased, scraped, or harvested lists.
  • Comply with the CAN-SPAM Act and any other law applicable to your recipients, including accurate headers and sender identity, a functioning unsubscribe mechanism, and prompt honoring of opt-outs.
  • Maintain correct forward and reverse DNS, and appropriate authentication records, for any address you send from.
  • Keep bounce and complaint rates within normal industry ranges, and stop sending to addresses that hard-bounce or complain. Sending unsolicited bulk email, or operating infrastructure that supports someone else doing so, is prohibited. Because spam originating from our address space harms every customer, we treat it as a serious violation and may act quickly.

6. Resource Use

Triton's pricing assumes normal, variable workloads sharing capacity in the ordinary way. You may not:

  • Mine cryptocurrency, or run proof-of-work, distributed-computing, or similar workloads whose primary purpose is generating digital assets. This applies whether the workload is your own or run on someone else's behalf, and it is a condition of the flat pricing we offer.
  • Sustain resource consumption that materially degrades service for other customers on shared infrastructure.
  • Run automated processes that create and destroy resources at a rate intended to exploit billing granularity, trial allowances, or promotional pricing.
  • Use the Services principally as a bulk file-distribution or media-seeding endpoint in a way that is inconsistent with the published characteristics of the product. If your workload is legitimate but unusually heavy, talk to us at sales@tritoncloud.io before you deploy it. Capacity we know about is capacity we can plan for.

7. Resale and Misrepresentation

You may build products on Triton and serve your own customers from them. You may not resell the Services in a way that misrepresents their origin or your relationship with us, present Triton's infrastructure as your own operated facilities, or use the Services to build a directly competing infrastructure service.

8. Export Control and Sanctions

You may not use the Services in violation of U.S. export control or economic sanctions laws, or make them available to any person or in any jurisdiction those laws prohibit.

9. Reporting Abuse

Report suspected violations to abuse@tritoncloud.io. To let us act quickly, include:

  • The IP address, domain, or URL involved.
  • Timestamps with the time zone, and relevant log excerpts or headers.
  • A description of what occurred and what harm it caused.
  • Your contact details, so we can follow up. Copyright complaints follow the notice procedure in Section 12 of our Terms of Service and should be sent to dmca@tritoncloud.io. Reports of child sexual abuse material receive priority handling; send them to abuse@tritoncloud.io and, where appropriate, to the CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.

We acknowledge abuse reports and investigate them. We do not disclose the outcome of an investigation, or the identity of a customer, except where the law requires it or valid legal process compels it.

10. How We Respond

Our response is proportionate to the harm, the risk, and your history. In most cases we will:

  • Notify you of the report or the behavior we have observed, and give you a reasonable period to investigate and correct it — normally forty-eight (48) hours, and shorter where harm is ongoing.
  • Escalate to a limit or partial suspension — such as blocking a port, rate-limiting traffic, or taking a single resource offline — if the problem is not corrected, preferring the narrowest measure that stops the harm.
  • Suspend the account where the violation continues, recurs, or is serious enough on its own.
  • Terminate the account for severe violations, for repeated violations after warning, or where required by law. Immediate action without prior notice. We will act first and notify you afterwards where the situation demands it: child sexual abuse material; an attack in progress originating from your account; active phishing or malware distribution; a compromised account being used to harm others; or a valid legal order requiring immediate action. In these cases we act on the narrowest scope that stops the harm, and we tell you what we did and why as soon as we reasonably can.

Appeals. If you believe we acted in error, write to abuse@tritoncloud.io with the details. We will review the decision and respond. Where a suspension resulted from a mistake on our part, we will restore service and will not charge you for the period of the outage.

Suspension for a violation of this Policy does not relieve you of fees already incurred, and we are not liable for losses arising from action taken in good faith under this Policy.

11. Legal Requests

We respond to valid legal process. Where the law permits and no exception applies — such as a court-ordered non-disclosure obligation or an emergency involving risk to life — we make reasonable efforts to notify the affected customer before producing information, so that they have an opportunity to respond.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as the Services change and as new categories of abuse appear. We will post changes on this page and update the effective date. Material changes take effect thirty (30) days after we post or notify you, except where a change is required by law or is needed to address an active threat, in which case it takes effect immediately.
